http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/29658353/ns/dateline_nbc-crime_reports/t/deadly-dreams/#.UHSD1phX3lgThis was a case of a murder while sleep walking. The murderer in this case, Keith Morrison, killed his girlfriend while sleep walking. They were both vacationing together and hung out with each other that night. In the morning Keith's girlfriend was found dead. Keith said he had no recollection of killing Eva, Keith's girlfriend. He said he remembers bits and peaces from his dream but it had nothing to do with Eva. All he remembers is defending himself from and intruder and the detectives believe the "intruder" was Eva. Keith knows he killed her because of the how he stabbed her. He stabbed her just like how stabs sharks. He works as a commercial fisherman and he kills sharks by stabbing their neck and severing the spinal cord. In Keith's mind, while he was sleeping, he was only trying to defend himself against an intruder. In reality, he was actually killing his own girlfriend.

http://www.aolnews.com/2010/05/08/expert-testifies-colo-teen-killed-while-sleepwalking/This article was about Daniel Gudino, a 14 year old Colorado boy. He had allegedly killed his 9 year old brother and stabbed his mother. A psychiatrist testified and claimed that he had been sleepwalking the entire time. It all began when his mother called 911 and said that her son had shot her in the shoulder and started stabbing her with a pair of scissors. He had also used the gun to kill his younger brother. In the aftermath, Daniel claimed that he'd had a dream of going down to his brother's room and shooting a ghost. The next thing he remembered was his mother crying while wrestling with him for the scissors.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-528574/Meet-Kipasso---sleepwalking-nurse-draws-masterpieces-trance.htmlMy article was about Lee Hadwin. He’s a sleepwalker who draws in his sleep. When awake, he has no artistic desire or talent. When asleep, he creates amazing art. He has been a part of multiple sleep studies and no study can conclude why or how this happens. In preparation for this sleep art; Hadwin has art supplies and empty spaces on walls for his doodles. When he wakes up in the morning the first thing he does is search for his newest drawing. He is usually quite surprised with the results considering he doesn’t remember what or where he stopped to create the masterpiece.
http://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/weird/Sleepwalker-Freezes-to-Death.htmlThis article is about Timothy Brueggeman, he is a fifty one year old Wisconsin native who suffered from insomnia. To counter his insomnia he took the sleeping pill Ambien. However, while the medicine is normally safe, it can be very dangerous when taken with alcohol, which Timothy appeared to have commonly done. In the night he began to sleepwalk, and went out in negative sixteen degrees Fahrenheit weather. He was found the next morning 190 yards from his house, dead from hypothermia. The most interesting thing of all is that this is not the first time he has gotten into trouble when taking Ambien; he once drove his pickup truck into the side of his garage. While his own mother urged him to stop taking the drug, he refused and as a result he lost his life.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/4362081.stmThis article is about a man by the name of Jules Lowe who killed his father while sleep walking. He lives in Greater Manchester, England and was 32 at the time. Lowe had a history of sleepwalking that intensified when he was under stress or had been drinking. his step-mother had recently died and he had been drinking the night he killed his father. He was diagnosed with insane-automatism meaning that he wasn't responsible for his actions while he was asleep. Lowe was not charged with murder, but his was sent to indefinite psychiatric treatment to prevent it from happening again. This is also the first reported case of sleepwalking murder in the United Kingdom.
http://www.oddee.com/item_96680.aspxMy Blog is about a man named Ian who is 34. Ian has a problem with sleepwalking.Rebekah (Ian’s wife) woke up in the night to find Ian mowing the lawn completely naked. Instead of waking him up she just unplugged the lawnmower and went back to bed. He eventually went back to bed and didn’t remember anything about that night.
http://health.usnews.com/health-news/family-health/sleep/articles/2009/05/08/7-criminal-cases-that-invoked-the-sleepwalking-defensehttp://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/29658353/ns/dateline_nbc-crime_reports/t/deadly-dreams/#.UHTA1xXA9BoMy story is about a man by the name of Stephen Reitz who was convicted of murder in 2004. Reitz and his "lover" Eva had taken a vacation to the little island of Catalina. Reitz and Weinfurtner were only companions. Weinfurtner had a husband who she claimed to be in love with. Reitz however was 17 years younger than her. Once the couple got to the small island, everything was fine. The Catalina Fire Department got a surprising visitor, Stephen Reitz. Reitz explains to the Fire Department how his girlfriend had been murdered, but the only rarity was he assumed it was himself. Reitz explained to the detectives that he was an active sleep-walker and suffered from bi-polar disorder. Reitz recognized his handy-work through the lasserations on the back of Eva's neck. He recognized the cuts because he was a commercial fisherman and that's how they severed the spinal cord. The evidence was not enough to acquit him of murder. Reitz was tried and convicted of first degree murder in 2004. This show's how sleep-walking can cause a major event to happen if not watched carefully.
http://abcnews.go.com/Health/jersey-woman-sleepwalks-death/story?id=15214754#.UHWzUJj7L9YThis article is about a 55 year old girl who walks into a lake and drowns. Her neighbors report that she had been acting strange the past couple of days. One of her neighbors also said that she had parked very strangely in her apartment parking lot. Even thought investigators are not extremely sure how this happened, they believe that she may have taken some sleep medicine too early. People that usually sleep at 11pm, but take Ambien at 9pm, could possibly experience this kind of thing.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/science/7960448/Death-that-stalks-the-sleepwalker.htmlThis article is about a man named Tobias Wong committed suicide. He was a talented artist who was looking foward to growing his reputation in the design world, creating his own line of fashion. But Wong sufferend from a sleeping disorder and sleep terrors. Some of the things he would do while sleep walking would be cooking a meal, browsing the internet, or even doing design work. http://www.citytv.com/toronto/citynews/news/local/article/24162 In 1987 Kenneth parks woke up one morning to a tire iron in his hand and blood all over his body. Parks had "slept walked" (drove) all the way to his inlaws house and beat the mother in law to death with it. He then attempted to choke the father in law but failed to do so completely. Parks then got in his car and drove to a police station and Comitted his murder. "I think i just killed two people" he told the stunned cops. Kenneth parks was let off a free man when doctors diagnosed the problem to be sleepwalking. Being put on medication parks never had the problem again and is now a notorious story in the case of sleep walking.
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/29658353/ns/dateline_nbc-crime_reports/t/deadly-dreams/ In this article there is a man and his girlfriend and they went on vacation to a very nice resort called Catalina. The girl’s best friend had been waiting to hear from her when she got home so they could go out and catch up. http://www.pantagraph.com/news/local/crime-and-courts/article_6b359ec2-a725-11df-9f26-001cc4c03286.htmlIn this 2010 article, Bloomington, Illinois, resident Matthew Nelson, 24, was accused of sexually assaulting an alleged, unnamed 21 year-old female victim. Before the incident, Nelson and the alleged victim had been drinking with friends; and Nelson had apparently been one of those who spent the night at her house. He was reported to have gotten up from the couch in the living room and assaulted her in her room. She called her sister and her sister's boyfriend to come over after being molested, and they confronted Nelson. After a year of waiting, Nelson was acquitted of the crime based on evidence that sleepwalking is often spurred by alcohol, sleep deprivation, and sleep apnea (according to Dr. Neil Feldman), along with some genetic connections. Nelson had a past history of sleepwalking, a family history of sleepwalking (proven by DNA), and a past diagnosis of sleep apnea; so he was clearly susceptible to commit an act through sleepwalking. The jury believed this and declared him an innocent after a 90 minute deliberation.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-354802/Sleepwalker-age-15-curled-crane.htmlIn my article a fifteen year old girl, whose name has not been released yet, was found on a construction site at 2 a.m. on a 130 foot crane in London. When a person was walking in the street he saw the girl and notified the police and they rushed to the scene. However, the police thought it was a suicide attempt but then came to realize she was sleeping. A firefighter climbed up the crane to rescue her but he had to be very careful in order to keep her from waking up and being frightened. Finally, the firefighter got to the girl and found her phone in one of her pockets and called her parents to come get her. Her parents notified the firefighter that she is a common sleepwalker. Her parents called the cell phone to wake the girl and then the firefighter safely got her down. A doctor studied this case and said it was one of the weirdest cases he has seen, but that you can do anything sleepwalking that you can do regularly so it was believable.
http://www.oddee.com/item_96680.aspx Robert Wood is a 55 year-old a man who has had a problem with sleepwalking for more than forty years. He is a chef who gets up about four times a week and while asleep, heads to the kitchen to prepare food. He normally prepares omelettes, chips, and stir fries. He and his wife Eleanor worry that he will have an accident in the kitchen so they do not sleep for more than three hours at a time. He believes that he gets really hungry at night while sleeping because he has an ulcer in his intestine and it only allows him to eat small portions.
http://www.lakesidepress.com/pulmonary/Sleep/sleep-murder.htm(Kenneth Parks Case) The article I chose is about a man named Kenneth Parks, a man who got up from his bed early on morning, went outside, got into his car, drove to his in-laws’ house, and stabbed his mother in-law to death with a knife. The man then went to the police station and said that he thought he had just killed someone and didn’t wake up until the next day. Before 1987, Parks did have a past history of sleepwalking, but it was later found out that he had been suffering from insomnia for several nights before the attack, due to his being fired from his job and some substantial gambling debts. Parks however was not convicted of the murder. It was concluded that he was in fact asleep and unaware of his actions. Parks of course had no recollection of the horrific attack.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/science/7960448/Death-that-stalks-the-sleepwalker.htmlThis article is about a man, Tobias Wong, who killed himself while sleeping. He dozed off one night and was found hanged the next morning. He showed no signs of depression, and was apparently in no control of his actions. He had a previous life of bizzare sleepwalking stories, though. He would also have many sleep terrors. Doctors claim that Wong's hanging was not a suicide, but an accident. He probably would not have even contemplated the thought of suicide were he awake.
http://www.oddee.com/item_96680.aspxA man named Lee Hadwin paints masterpieces while asleep. In the day he works as a nurse and has no interest in art whatsoever, while at night he becomes an artist. He started sleepwalking while he was four years old. His parents thought it was just a child phase that he would get over. He didn't start drawing until he got in his teens. It progressed as he got older and now galleries want some examples of his work. He now leaves art tools laying around like charcoal pencils and a sketchbook so that he would be prepared for another picture.
http://www.wral.com/news/local/story/10308369/In my article a man was charged with stabbing his mother and sister and killing his sister in the act. He says he has no recollection of the attacks. During his trial a psychiatrist was hired by the state to determine his mind set. He was found to have no memory of the incident due to him sleep walking. He was acquitted of the crimes and returned home to his mom.

He cooks full meals with all of the lights on and TV up loud. He and his wife are worried he will burn the house down and therefore is getting help from a sleep specialist. But not this time, on the morning of December 16th Chanelle (Tegan's older sister) woke up to find Tegan dangling from her bunk bed by a hello kitty purse just 2 inches off the ground. Tegan was only 4 years old.
http://health.usnews.com/health-news/family-health/sleep/articles/2009/05/08/7-criminal-cases-that-invoked-the-sleepwalking-defenseIn the 1870’s a man fell asleep in the middle of a hotel lobby, and a bellhop who worked at the hotel shook him lightly to try to wake him up. The man was startled by being shaken, and pulled out a gun, and shot the bell hop three times. The man was shocked, and saddened by what he had done, so he got up and found someone to help. The man was found guilty of manslaughter, but the conviction was overturned on appeal because the jury was not aware of the evidence that the man was a lifelong sleepwalker and at the time was sleep deprived.
http://www.oddee.com/item_96680.aspxMy story was about Rachel Ward and 18 year old girl stepped out of the window of her historic castle home and fell 25feet to the ground. She landed on both of her feet just a strip of grass separating her and a car. Rachel left six inch divots in the ground before she collapsed. She was still semi-conscious so she screamed for help. Her parents immediately rushed her to a hospital where doctors were amazed to find she had not broken a single bone. Rachel woke up the next morning without any trouble or side effects.
http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/sideshow/casino-robbery-suspect-sleepwalking-184426827.htmlMy article is about 27 year-old, Winston A. Riley. He cornered the 81 year-old women and tried and pulled out a knife and tried to rob her. He says he was awakened when the elderly women after she fled from the elevator. His attorney contacted his family and they confirmed that he has had sleepwalking problems since he was a child. Riley is a family man and has never committed a crime.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/science/7960448/Death-that-stalks-the-sleepwalker.htmlThis article was about 35 year old artist Tobias Wong. Wong was a sleepwalker and had sometimes gone on the internet and cooked some food while he was sleepwalking. Wong had hung himself while he was sleepwalking. He wasn't depressed and lived a good life. This is a very rare case of sleepwalking. There was another person, Michael Cox, that had hung himself in 2001 while he was sleepwalking. Michael had watched Schindler's List, which had a hanging at the end. That probably caused him to dream about hanging himself.
http://www.oddee.com/item_96680.aspxThis article is about a 23 year old man named Kenneth Parks. He was suffering from severe insomnia caused by stress. On May 23, 1987, he awoke, drove to he mother and father-in-law's house and stapped his mother-in-law to death. He also assaulted his father-in-law, but he survived. He loved both his mother and father-in-law so this was very strange. He then drove to the police station and told them he thinks that he killed her. He wasn't charged because he didn't have any memory of doing this.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1184565/Teenager-plunges-25ft-sleepwalking-bedroom-window---survives-breaking-single-bone.htmlIn this artical you read about a teenage girl named Rachel Ward. HEr story about sleep walking is incredible. In May 2009, Rachel was sound asleep in her two story bedroom, she was mid swing for exams and had gon to bed at about 9:30, durring the middle of the night Rachel got out of bed and climbed to her window and jumped out. When she reached the ground she had landed on a small patch of grass close to her car. Rachel was still asleep on the way to the hospital and didnt wake up untill the next morning. Doctors were surprised by the test results, Rachel had not broken a sing bone in her body from her fall. When asked about her sleep walking incident Rachel doesnt know what to say because she has no memory of her jump! although she thinks that her training form dance may have been the reason for no broken bones, she still seems shaken that she jumped from her two story window.
